Growing up in the 80’s, you'd see the top 3 Halloween costumes: Jason Vorhees, Freddy Krueger, and Michael Myers, but every once in a while, you see someone wearing a Pinhead costume. I remember catching this on Sci-Fi Channel, and all I could remember was “Hey, that guy is wearing that other guy’s skin.” It wasn’t till late in life that I could understand what Hellraiser was all about, an autist with a fidget spinner puzzle who gooned too far. That puzzle was the Lamentation Configuration.
Pinhead and the Cenobites, the most iconic image from these movies, has to be the Lamentation Configuration. An intricate puzzle box, which was created for a Marquis de Sade-type character in the 1700s, which, when solved, opens a doorway to a hedonistic torture dimension full of twisted demons. Wash, rinse, and repeat. The series does get kind of repetitive after the fourth one, and I think it breaks continuity, but it is still considered horror royalty.
The magazine this year is coated KG Burnt Bronze and deep engraved to give it some texture and feel afterwards completing the puzzle box magazine. Since this process takes a bit of time we are launching this magazine for the whole month of October. Depending on demand we can look at different calibers and magazine types to add.
THE MAGAZINE
The mag themselves are commercial Bulgarian steel reinforced slab side polymer mags. These are not only great canvases to work on but with their steel reinforced feed lips and front/back locking lugs they make for great all around magazines. Our crew has used these mags in different classes with some choosing to alternate these between their “go to” steel magazines. The artwork is on both the left and right side of the magazine separated by a black front and back spine and finished off with an RD/ MAG LADS engraved floor plate.
SPECS
*Note that the magazine designs will vary slightly in color due to inconsistency of the polymer dye. They will also change color and patina with use. This is caused by the introduction of oils produced by your hands. All magazines will be shipped in a plastic bag once burned for those who want to keep your magazines NIB. The Floor Plates will have some oil on them to prevent oxidation but it is recommended to add some more oil sporadically to prevent further oxidation/ rust depending on your area’s climate.
